The focus of the Discovery Zone is to link STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) with food, farming and the countryside in a hands-on and interactive way. You can read more about last year’s Discovery Zone here.

The Discovery Zone is our hub of interactive learning for young people and families and is organised by our sister charity, the Food and Farming Discovery Trust. This year, the core theme in the Zone is Norfolk Fruit and Veg. Find out what produce is grown here in Norfolk, see the scale of the machinery used out in the field and learn more about how local farmers are working to be more sustainable!

There is plenty to explore in the Discovery Zone and lots of opportunities to take part in engaging hands-on activities.

The organisations providing free activities in the Discovery Zone this year include Thornage Hall, the Papillon Project and the SAW Trust, whilst The Forum, John Innes Centre, Norfolk and Norwich Science Association, The Earlham Institute, East Norfolk Sixth Form College, Little Story Telling Company and the Norfolk Clinical Research Facility are providing free activities in this year’s Norwich Science Festival Tent.

We are thankful for the support of the Forum, organisers of Norwich Science Festival. The Discovery Zone is a chance for you to learn more about Norwich Science Festival, which is returning to the city on 17th – 24th February 2024!
