HRH The Countess of Wessex confirmed as Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association President

Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex has been confirmed as the 2019 President of the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA).

The RNAA are best known for organising the Royal Norfolk Show, the UK’s largest two-day agricultural show which takes place on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th June 2019 at the Norfolk Showground.

As part of her Presidency, Her Royal Highness will officially attend the show and will fulfil a packed programme of visits and presentations across the showground during her visit.

The Countess follows in the footsteps of her husband, His Royal Highness, The Earl of Wessex who was the RNAA’s President in 2014.  Over the last one hundred years, 14 members of The Royal family have been the Association’s President and HM The Queen is the charity’s Royal Patron.

“We are very honoured to have The Countess of Wessex as our President for 2019, and we very much look forward to welcoming Her Royal Highness to the Royal Norfolk Show,” said Greg Smith, RNAA Chief Executive.

“Her Royal Highness already has a strong association with agricultural shows and is currently Patron of Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations, so I know she is very much looking forward to finding out more and supporting the work we undertake in the county.”

This year’s show will be once again packed with things to see and is set to attract an expected attendance of over 80,000 visitors. Livestock and equine entries are extremely strong this year, with record levels of cattle, sheep and pig sections entries.
